Frequently Asked Questions

What will I be sleeping in?
We have large Safari-style canvas tents on platforms that fully zip and are installed with wood burning stoves and ventilation.

Is bedding provided?
Yes! Our bedding includes luxuriously soft sheets, pillows, down comforters, and blankets.

What are the shared bathrooms like?
The shared bathhouses are in a separate building that feature fully private, lockable rooms with a hot-water shower, sink and flushing toilet. They are conveniently located next to the main lodge at camp or a short 2–4-minute walk from your Safari tent. Our shared restrooms are regularly maintained and sanitized. There are bath towels located in each bathroom and additional bath towels in the closet, along with a dirty towel hamper that is regularly maintained. These bathroom trailers are water saving and utilize push-for-water nozzles. Due to the limited power available we are unable to heat showers and may be chilly in mornings. If you need to use a hair dryer, please ask the front desk and they can assist you further. Unfortunately there is not enough power in the restroom trailers to power appliances like hair dryers.

Is there Wi-Fi at camp?
We do have access to Wi-Fi, though it can be spotty at times.

Will my cell phone work at camp?
The quality of coverage can vary based on location and service provider. We suggest checking the coverage map of your service provider prior to your trip.

What should I pack for the trip?
Be sure to check the weather before arriving and pack accordingly for all weather conditions. You will want to bring quality hiking shoes, backpacks, water bottles and a USB cell phone charging cord to use with the USB battery packs in your tent. Rain jackets are also advised, just in case! But not to worry, our tents are fully weatherized and are capable of handling common rainstorms! We have a suggested packing list that will be sent to you a week prior to arrival.

Can I take photography, film, or use a drone on the premises?
For personal use you can absolutely take pictures and videos. For professional shoots we require advanced approvals. For safety reasons, recreational drone use by any guest or member of the public is not permitted on, or over any of the property. Likewise, commercial use is also prohibited, except in limited circumstances when an approved operator has received written permission from the marketing team. This includes use associated with special events, marketing and film/photo applications.

What are food options? Are meals included?
Crystal Sky Camp is stocked with all locally inspired buffet options at additional cost. Enjoy our seasonal breakfasts, lunch, and dinner options at our onsite lodge. Dining is first-come, first-served and open seating. Dining with a large group? Please let our staff know in advance so we may best accommodate your needs. There is something for everyone on our menu. For health and safety reasons, we do not allow food inside the tents. Beverages of any kind are permitted in the tents.

Is there electricity or plumbing inside the tents?
Just like camping, there are no outlets in the tent which means no mini fridge or coffee maker. However, there are battery powered fans & lanterns with USB or UBC, additionally, we have one lily pad charger per tent for cell phone charging. If you need a powered battery for a CPAP or medical device just let us know in advance of your stay, so that we can request one. Powered batteries are available on a first come, first served basis.

Do you have fireplaces inside the tents?
We have small wood burning stoves inside each tent with accessible firewood located on the porch. If you need assistance getting a fire lit, our staff would be happy to assist. Please do not keep a fire lit if you plan on leaving the tent.

Is the camp lit at night?
Yes, we use solar pathway lighting around camp but try to limit light pollution at our eco-conscious location, allowing you to take in the stunning view of the Milky Way Galaxy. There are also lights on the shared bathrooms and all tents have USB-powered lanterns for use inside and outside the tent.

Can I lock the tent?
The tents do not have locks. However, they do zip up with both an inner mesh netting, and an additional canvas exterior shell. We do suggest keeping all valuables such as cash, jewelry, cameras, passports, etc. with you.

How safe is the camp?
Our camp is very private and away from the public. Our staff will be monitoring our family-friendly camps 24 hours a day and are equipped with radios for onsite communication. We’re here to make your glamping experience comfortable, safe, and relaxing! Quiet hours are enforced after 10 PM.

Are you pet friendly?
Yes, dogs are welcome in a certain number of tents. We ask that they are kept on a leash and the owner cleans up after them. Pets are not to be left unattended in your tent at any time.

How do I book an adventure?
After booking a stay at Crystal Sky Camp, our Adventure Concierge will reach out to help you book an adventure. No need to reach out in advance. Adventures are an additional cost per person.

When I get done camping are there other things to do at your resort?
We have an on-site gondola ride to Washington state’s highest restaurant and the most amazing view of Mt. Rainier, 20 miles of hiking trails, activities/events and gift shops are also available.

How far away is the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park from Crystal Mountain?
Sunrise is the closest park entrance to camp and is a 30-minute drive. Paradise is on the other side of the mountain and is around a 2-hour drive.
